Meet Dr. Gisela

Dr. Gisela Henriques Leandro is a distinguished Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatrist) with expertise in ultrasound-guided interventional procedures and the specialized treatment of spasticity.

Clinical Leadership

She holds an Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine (University of Lisbon), a Postgraduate Degree in Sports Medicine (University of Porto), and a Master’s Degree focused on Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Interventional Procedures. She is extensively trained in the use of Botulinum Toxin for conditions including spasticity, dystonia, and chronic migraine.

In her leadership roles, she coordinates the Ultrasound-Guided Interventional Unit (Pain and Spasticity) and the Physiatry-Spasticity Consultation at Faro Hospital. She also serves as the Director of the Medical Department at the Cerebral Palsy Center of Beja.

Committed to education, Dr. Leandro is an Invited Lecturer at the University of Algarve and an Invited Trainer for intervention techniques in pain and spasticity in national and international courses. She actively contributes to the field through her work as an author in various scientific publications and as a frequent invited speaker.
